Our own Dr Molina nominated for top safety award
Dr Beatriz Molina, founder of Medikas clinics in Bristol and Somerset, has been nominated for the prestigious title of Proactive Doctor of the Year in the national Safety In Beauty Diamond Awards.
She is one of seven doctors from across the UK who actively campaign and promote safety and clinical excellence in the aesthetics sector. A winner will be announced at the national Safety In Beauty Diamond Awards in London in July.
Dr Molina said: “I’ve worked in the aesthetic industry in the UK for many years and believe strongly in safety first.
Our sector has been brought into disrepute by poor practitioners delivering botch jobs in unsafe environments.
Now we are lifting the lid on this and campaigning for better standards so our clients can be re-assured we are operating with clinical excellence in mind.”
Medikas was first established eleven years ago by Dr Molina. Her first boutique clinic was opened in Street, Somerset, in 2007 and won its first award for Best UK Clinic two years later.
In 2014, Dr Molina opened a flagship clinic in Whiteladies Road, Clifton, Bristol, offering many aesthetic procedures including thread lifts, dermal fillers, lasers, chemical peels and anti-wrinkle treatments.
Dr Molina is known internationally as a leading practitioner in the world of aesthetic medicine for her injecting skills, training and publications. She lectures all over the world and is the vice-president of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM). She was also a founder member of the national campaign to promote best practice, Save Face.
Last year the Bristol clinic was named the best in the south of England in the annual aesthetic awards.
The Safety in Beauty Awards were created by Antonia Mariconda who has campaigned for best practice in the industry.
